Idle Women
In 2015 Idle Women had just finishing the narrow boat Selina Cooper and were preparing to tour her throughout the waterways of Lancashire, North West Yorkshire, Manchester and Merseyside. She was a space for all women and girls and, with an artist in residence on board, would be moored at certain towns along the canals in order to engage with the local communities.
I came on board to follow Selina and her cohort for the two years she was in motion, documenting the project, Idle Women, the places and the times as a graphic novel. In the summer of 2020 we finally got around to editing my unwieldy manuscript into this book and it was published by Idle Women in the autumn of that year.
